The Luas Red Line was closed at Heuston Station earlier today after a man was struck by the Luas.

Gardai and emergency services were called to the scene, where it's believed a person was rescued from beneath the Luas.

The Luas was travelling from Tallaght towards the city when the incident occurred on Stephen's Lane.

The man was brought to hospital where his condition is unknown.

The incident occurred shortly after 1pm today.

Commuters were warned to expect delays only the Luas Red Line, which has now re-opened following the earlier incident.
