Eleven units of Dublin fire brigade called to fire at Trinity medical lab
Eleven units of Dublin fire brigade were called out and part of Dublin city centre closed down for hours after a fire broke out at a medical laboratory in Trinity College this afternoon.
Two chemical and biological units were called to deal with any potential hazardous effects of the fire which broke out just after lunch. The laboratory contained ether, fire brigade sources said. One member of staff working in the laboratory at the time was unhurt.
A stretch of Pearse Street was closed for three hours, causing serious traffic disruption, while the fire brigade made sure there was no threat.
