Sligo electoral updates: early updates
People Before Profit candidate Seamie O'Boyle is creating a stir in the Sligo electoral area.
Early tallies put him at eight per cent at a time when many sitting Fine Gael councillors are languishing at two and three per cent - and less.
The front runner in Sligo is as predicted verteran Independent councillor Declan Bree followed by Sinn Fein's Sean MacManus at 13 per cent.
With about one third of the boxes open in this area which includes Sligo town , Fine Gael and Fianna Fail are running at seven per cent each.
Labour is at two per cent compared to 19 per cent for Sinn Fein.
