FINE Gael leader Enda Kenny last night hit back at claims by his former party leader Alan Dukes that Anglo Irish Bank would need a further cash injection.
Mr Dukes, who is now chairman of the nationalised bank, said Mr Kenny's demand that "not another red cent" will go into the bank would come back to bite him.
But Mr Kenny, his former party colleague, hit back at Mr Dukes' suggestion he would have to eat his words.
"Alan is the chairman of the bank. We propose to close down that bank. Obviously he is going to defend his realm, and I am going to defend mine," he said.
Mr Kenny again insisted Fine Gael would not pump any more money into Anglo if elected.
