TWO aspiring Dail deputies were yesterday offered a year's modelling contract as compensation if they failed in their bid to win a seat.
FG candidate Catherine Yore -- tastefully dubbed 'Catherine Phwoar' -- captured the title of "dishiest darling" in a competition organised by bookies Paddy Power and modelling agency, Assets.
Two thousand took part in the online poll and Catherine secured 758 votes, or 39pc.
In second place was FF candidate in Dublin North East, Averil Power, with 20pc (391 votes); and third, Lorraine Higgins, Labour candidate in Galway East, with 17pc (337).
In the 'Dail dude' title race, victory went to FF Louth senator James Carroll, with 33pc (340 votes); Naoise O' Muiri, FG candidate in Dublin north central, with 22pc (227); and FG's Leo 'The Lion' Varadkar, with 18pc (189).
