SOME of Dublin's top street artists joined an Independent candidate as he launched his street art campaign yesterday.

Dylan Haskins (23), standing in Dublin South East, is determined to spread his message 'It Starts Here' beyond the confines of traditional campaigns. He unveiled the first in a series of 'street art election billboards' created by street artist and activist Will St Leger.

"We can't afford large-scale commercial billboards. We've asked businesses in the city to let us borrow their wallspace," said Mr Haskins, a writer and director who recently became the youngest ever member on the board of directors of the Project Arts Centre in Temple Bar.

The former record label boss has also begun a voter registration drive in his own constituency to make sure young people have their voices heard.
