The Floating Voter Podcast 4: Alan Underwood Kelly and the Pursuit of Power

The fourth in the series of's political podcasts for Election 2016

The phoney war is over and it’s finally time to tear apart the ‘fiscal space’, put up the posters and dig up the dirt.

Things really ramp up a gear in the latest episode of ‘The Floating Voter’ with Niamh Horan from the Sunday Independent joining the team to discuss her now infamous interview with Alan Kelly.

She reveals what really went on during her walkabout with the ‘power hungry’ Environment Minister on her recent trip to Tipperary.

There is also a special contribution from Tánaiste Joan Burton who is among the fans that have tuned in over recent weeks to hear the irreverent analysis of Niall O’Connor and Philip Ryan.

This podcast, hosted by INM’s Group Political Editor Kevin Doyle, looks at the promises being made by the parties so far, including cheap childcare, pension hikes and tax cuts. Are they credible – or as Pat Rabbitte once explained, just what you say at election time.

The panel debate whether there’s a difference being muck-raking and legitimately digging up old stories at election.

And’s Jason Kennedy gets to grips with some of the latest candidate theme tunes.

As always we want you to help ignite the conversation on Twitter using #FloatingVoter.

The Floating Voter is available every Tuesday and Friday and can be listened to on SoundCloud, iTunes, Stitcher and .
