With all 40 constituencies having returned a first count, a picture of the voter turnout in Election 2016 has emerged. The infographic below provides insight into the turnout at both a national and provincial level.

While the electorate has sent a clear message to the government parties, turnout is down from 70.1% in 2011 to 65.2% in 2016 suggesting that there may be less anger with Fine Gael and Labour than there was with Fianna Fáil 5 years ago.
