Elderly woman (92) dies in house fire
GARDAI are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fire which claimed the life of a 92-year-old woman.
The fire occurred shortly after 7pm in a house tonight in Greaghettiagh, Tonyduff, Bailieborough, Co Cavan.
A garda spokesperson said that the body of the deceased had been removed from the scene and taken to Cavan General Hospital.
The scene remained cordoned off last night, and an examination is expected to begin later today.
