Elderly man (91) dies following two-vehicle collision

A 91-year-old man has died following a two-vehicle collision on Tuesday afternoon.

Gardai in Dunboyne in Meath are now investigating the fatal road collision between a car and a truck.

The collision occurred on the R147 at Pace, Dunboyne at approximately 12.55pm.

The driver, who was the sole occupant of the car, was seriously injured when his car collided with a truck.

He was taken to Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown where he was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the truck was also taken to Connolly Hospital with minor injuries.

The road was closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and has since reopened.
