Elderly man (70s) dies in hospital after four car collision

A man critically injured in a four car crash in Dublin has died.

The man, aged in his 70s,  was alone in his car when it was involved in collisions with three other cars on Saint Peter's Road in Walkinstown.

The multiple collision happened at 1.10pm yesterday (Thurs).

The man was removed by ambulance to Tallaght Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The occupants of the three other cars were unharmed.

The road was closed for a forensic collision investigation by gardai and traffic was diverted.
