An entrepreneurial student has used his exam experience to create a study app helping thousands.

Mark Nealon (20) took a year out after studying for his Leaving Cert and has developed a "stress free" exam app.

The UCD first-year student had witnessed the negative effects of peers failing to plan a study schedule when he was sitting his Leaving.

The app offers study timetables and push notifications are sent out to remind students when to study, socialise and participate in sport.

"I came up with the idea for MyStudyPal when I was 18 and right in the middle of my Leaving Cert," Mr Nealon said.

The app is now being worked on in the Nova UCD business incubator hub.

The student, from Mount Merrion, south Dublin, said the app, which won the 2019 Irish Student Entrepreneurship Forum National Final last month, is now used by 4,000 students.
