Eco-friendly lunch bags, a cushion for your stiff school chair, and garden ornaments made from recycled plastic - these were just a few of the creative projects on show at the Junior Entrepreneur Programme All-Ireland showcase yesterday.

The girls of Scoil Bheinín Naofa Cailiní in Duleek, Co Meath, received the Creative Pioneers award for their detail bracelets. Wearers of the high-tech bracelets can store a raft of information from emergency phone numbers to details of allergies or other important medical information.

Meanwhile, INM Editor-in-Chief Fionnán Sheahan presented the award to the Top Team, Gaelscoil Durlas Eile in Co Tipperary, for their bilingual board game Get Up and Go - Bí ag Bogadh, which encourages children to leave their iPads at home and get active.
