There is still an opportunity for parents to share their views on what they would like to see included in the proposed Parent and Student Charter.

The Charter will be underpinned by legislation and will create a framework for individual school charters.

The aim is to give parents and students a much stronger voice in the running of their schools and it is expected to bring about a cultural change in relationships. The Charter will cover all aspects of such relationships, such as costs and dealing with grievances

At the request of Education Minister Richard Bruton, the National Parents Council Post Primary (NPCPP) has been running a survey for several months to canvas views.

The closing date for the survey is next Tuesday, October 31. The survey link is on the council website, npcpp.ie.
