More than 5,000 children from around the country will descend on Dublin's RDS today to showcase their business acumen.

This year's Junior Entrepreneur Programme saw 16,000 11 and 12-year-old children take part and come up with business ideas that generated profits exceeding €198,000.

Today the All Ireland Showcase takes place in the RDS with 5,500 children displaying their projects ahead of an awards ceremony hosted by Miriam O'Callaghan. 67,000 children have participated since it was founded in 2010.
