Leaving Cert 2019: Design and Communications Graphics - 'Students had to think on their feet'
Students had to think on their feet to solve problems while also getting their work done in the time allowed, was how teacher Pat Murphy summed up the Leaving Cert higher-level Design and Communications Graphics paper.
Mr Murphy said students would have been happy with the range and standard of the questions asked.
Students may have savoured a question that included an image of a package for Doritos tortilla crisps, based on a regular hexagonal prism. A GAA pitch featured in another question.
Other interesting questions on the paper related to the geometry applied to Irish and International buildings and structures, including the The Brunel Building in Dublin which houses AOL and features a distinctive hyperbola curve.
