Dunne puts nerves aside to cheer on Irish teams
BROKE developer Sean Dunne may be battling the intricacies of a bankruptcy case but he still has time out to enjoy Irish sports matches.
Last weekend, the former 'Baron of Ballsbridge' was seen in the crowd of the Ireland vs US Eagles rugby match in Houston, Texas, some 2,000km from his east coast US home. Now, he has been spotted watching the Republic of Ireland soccer team lose 2-0 to Spain in yesterday's match at the Yankee Stadium in New York. Dunne now faces proceedings for bankruptcy in both the US and in Ireland.
It appears the former tycoon was able to put his nerves aside to watch the matches as he is due to come face to face with his creditors in the US for the first time next week.
The developer – who faces debts of $942m (€710m) – is due to be questioned in front of creditors Ulster Bank and NAMA in a Connecticut courtroom after a judge decided to let the bankruptcy case go ahead in both Ireland and the US.
