Dublin-bound flight forced to divert after declaring emergency
An Air France flight operated by CityJet bound for Dublin Airport this evening has been forced to make an emergency landing in Stansted Airport due to a mechanical issue.
Flight AF1016 from Paris was due to land in Dublin at approximately 9pm, but declared an emergency on board over the south of England and diverted towards Stansted Airport.
A spokesman for Stansted airport told Independent.ie that a technical issue was the reason for the emergency and diverted landing.
It was also confirmed that the aircraft has landed safely at the airport, and that no passengers on board were harmed.
