The DSPCA are appealing for a family to foster seven puppies (and their mum) over Christmas.

The seven four-week-old puppies are up for some festive fun and are all named after Santa's reindeer.

Dasher, Dancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Blitzen and Rudolf are lab-collie puppies hoping for a "happy, lively indoor foster home with access to an enclosed garden".

The DSPCA are putting out a special appeal as the puppies came to them from another rescue centre, and are too young to be separated from their mother.

Their mum, Hollie, is a medium-sized dog and is one-year-old.

DSPCA's Lorna Swift said the animal welfare centre "also have lots and lots of other pups and kittens looking for foster and forever homes".

She added; "Please call 014994720 or 014994702, or email foster@dspca.ie, or simply call to our shelter on Mount Venus Road, Rathfarnham D16 any day 11am to 4.30 pm."
