Dry cleaners explodes, owner feared dead

A shop owner was missing, feared dead, last night after an explosion demolished a dry cleaners in the centre of Killarney, Co Kerry, shortly after 6am yesterday.

Rescue workers were sifting through the rubble of James Gleeson's laundrette and dry cleaners in a bid to locate the businessman.

Two nearby hotels were evacuated. A garda forensics team was at the scene carrying out an investigation after emergency teams got access to the damaged buildings.
