Dressed for the part at TV drama auditions
Hundreds of people have attended auditions for the latest made-for-TV historical drama.
'Reign' tells the story of Mary Queen of Scots during her teenage years, and young and old crowded into Galway's Radisson Hotel for their chance to impress.
Melissa Shiels, an expert in Tudor clothing design with 'Iryshe Tudor Companye', was dressed head to toe in period regalia.
"I am part of a historical re-enactment group and we try to promote the history of Ireland in the 16th Century. I also have a background in acting so I'd like to combine the two," she said.
Shooting for the series pilot is expected to begin in the summer, in and around Galway and Ashford Castle in Co Mayo.
Australian actress Adelaide Kane, who appeared in 'Teen Wolf' and 'Power Rangers: RPM' has been cast as the monarch.
