Nine children from across the country were chosen from 1,000 entries to an art competition where they were asked to imagine a 'dream car'.

Entrants were encouraged to let their imagination run as part of Toyota's commitment of being 'Built for a Better World'.

The winners will now go forward to represent Ireland in Toyota's worldwide art contest and if they make it to the final they could win a prize of a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Japan with their parents.

Jing Wen Yang (12), from Foley Street, Dublin, won in the 12-15 age category with her painting 'The Ocean Cleaner'. Katie Mia O'Shaughnessy-Larkin (11) won with 'The Music Car' and Alice Evelyn O'Shaughnessy-Larkin (6), from Co Louth, won with 'The Angel Love Car'.
