THE worlds of politics, business and celebrity united yesterday to bid farewell to Richard Hannaford, husband of 'Dragons' Den' star Norah Casey. Mr Hannaford died on Wednesday.

Ms Casey held the removal service at the University Church on St Stephen's Green, Dublin, the church in which the couple married in 1996.

Their son Dara supported his mother throughout, leaving her side only to help carry his father's coffin.

Mary Harney and her husband Brian Geoghegan were among the mourners as were Goal's John O'Shea and developer Harry Crosbie.

Bill Cullen and his partner Jackie Lavin attended, along with Bobby Kerry and Niall O'Farrell from 'Dragons' Den'.

Other mourners included Lorraine Keane, Clodagh Hopkins Kean, Linda Keating, Lisa Fitzpatrick and RTE's Blaithnaid Ni Chofaigh.

Mr Hannaford died after fighting a lengthy battle with illness. Norah and Richard met a media dinner in London when Richard was working for the BBC.

Mr Hannaford is also survived by his mother Adria and brother Simon.

The funeral takes place today after 11am Mass to Mt Jerome Crematorium, Harold's Cross.
