Former supermodel Yasmin Le Bon wants to grow old disgracefully - and the word "granny" doesn't appeal.

At 54, work opportunities are pouring in for the former highest-paid model in Britain.

However, on the subject of growing old, she said: "Do you know what, it worries me, the whole idea of ageing gracefully.

"I think I'm going to be thoroughly disgraceful. In my heart, I'm always a rebel so I never want to conform to anyone else's standards or ideas so I change daily.

"I don't know about this growing old gracefully thing. I think grow old as you feel happy to be, whatever makes you happy."

She is enjoying life as mother to three daughters, wife to Duran Duran singer Simon, and grandmother to "adorable" Taro.

She admits: "I don't like the title 'granny' but I don't know what he's going to call me. He may call me something horrendous.

"My daughter really wants him to call me 'Yammy' which is kind of cute."

Le Bon was in Dublin to launch the Beauty Icons event at Brown Thomas which features masterclasses, and the store's inaugural beauty awards voted by the public.
