Dobson to host opening day

Celebrity talent agency and media relations consultant TalentBase has been engaged by the Eucharistic Congress to provide celebrities and to advise on media-related matters in relation to this week's congress, which begins today in the RDS, the first time since 1932 that Ireland has hosted the congress. The agency has supplied well known faces to co-host the congress each day, including Bryan Dobson and Brenda Power, as well as a host of younger, glamorous TV3 and TG4 presenters. The final day of the Congress culminates in a Mass in Croke Park, hosted by Joe Duffy and newsreader Eileen Dunne next Sunday. All tickets have already been snapped up.

The Opening Ceremony today, conducted by Dobson and the woman being touted as the new Grainne Seoige, Roisin Ni Thomain of TG4, will be broadcast live by RTE and is expected to have a worldwide audience of some 200 million, as well as some 15,000 in the main RDS arena, home of the Leinster Rugby team.
