Dobson, Duffy and Dunne among the famous faces compering events

A NUMBER of well-known faces are now unveiled as presenters of arena entertainment during IEC2012.

The opening ceremony in the RDS on Sunday, June 10, will be hosted on the arena stage by RTE newscaster Bryan Dobson along with TG4 presenter Roisin Ni Thomain. Events start at 1pm and continue until 4.45pm. This will be broadcast live on RTE.

The closing ceremony, Statio Orbis, in Croke Park on June 17, will be overseen by Liveline presenter Joe Duffy and newscaster Eileen Dunne. Events begin at 1pm and run until 5.15pm. This event will also be broadcast live on RTE television.

The opening and closing ceremonies and other events throughout the week will also be live- streamed through www.rte.ie/live. EWTN, on UPC channel 815, and Sky's 589 will also broadcast a number of the June 10-17 events.

During the week, a selection of presenters will take to the arena stage, including broadcaster Joe O'Shea, GAA pundit Marty Morrissey, TV3 newscaster Siobhan Bastible, Spirit Radio presenter Ronan Johnston, broadcaster Brenda Power and TV3 presenter Paul Connolly.

They will all grace the arena stage as part of an array of events during the Congress week in the RDS, and will provide entertainment to the thousands of pilgrims attending.
