The younger brother of slain Real IRA leader Alan Ryan has been shot dead in a horror gun attack.

Well-known dissident Republican Vinny Ryan was murdered as he sat alone in a car parked outside a house on McKee Road in Finglas, West Dublin, at 3pm yesterday.

Ryan had dropped his infant child and female partner at the property, but they were not in his VW Golf when he was targeted by a two-man hit team who "riddled" him with bullets.

Ryan (25) was rushed to the Mater Hospital with head and chest injuries, where he was pronounced dead shortly after 9pm.

Gardaí were last night drawing up plans to monitor criminals attached to the notorious 'Mr Big' drugs gang, who are the chief suspects for the attack.

The same gang is believed to have murdered 32-year-old Alan Ryan in September 2012.
