Demand soars for charities
IRISH charities have experienced a huge increase in demand for their services in the last three years while also dealing with a reduction in resources.
Research published yesterday revealed that 63.5pc of Irish charities have faced increased demand since 2009 while 60pc faced a drop in income.
The study was compiled by The Wheel, which represents 900 non-profit organisations.
It found that 34pc of charities faced both an increase in demand and a drop in funding.
