Delays for travellers going to UK due to strike

BUS, rail and airport users planning to travel to Northern Ireland and the UK tomorrow can expect delays because of industrial action.

There will be no rail or bus services between Dublin and Belfast, while airline passengers planning to use British airports can expect delays.

Strikes are being held across Britain over changes to public sector pensions with border agency workers expected to be among up to two million workers who could walk out.

AA Roadwatch last night advised people to check their travel plans.

Iarnrod Eireann said it would not operate a cross-border service tomorrow, with all Translink rail services suspended. Details at www.irishrail.ie.

Bus Eireann also said that Translink coach services would be suspended.
