Commuters in Dublin's city centre are experiencing delays after a minor crash on the quays this morning.

There are considerable delays on the north quays after a car appeared to drive off the road, mount the pavement and crash into the old Ormond Hotel.

Gardaí are attending the scene. Motorists are being advised to avoid the area if possible.

Gardai say the car had been involved in an accident with a truck on the north quays which badly damaged the driver's side and was forced onto the pavement as a result

It then crashed into the hotel.

There were no reported injuries.

A collision on the Malahide Road at Fairview has been reported. The left lane is blocked.

A crash has also been cleared  on the M50 southbound before J7 on the Westlink Bridge. The collision was blocking the right lane but delays are now expected to ease.

Meanwhile, on the southside traffic lights are down along Grand Canal at Harold's Cross. Traffic is slow on all approaches as a result according to the AA.

A truck has broken down on the M50 southbound before J6 Blanchardstown in the hard shoulder.

Irish rail has warned that the 7.40am service from Bray to Connolly is running at a reduced capacity due to maintenance.

Elsewhere, the M18 Galway/Limerick Rd has reopened both ways between J12 Killow and J11 Dromoland following a collision earlier this morning.
