SERVICE on the Luas red line in Dublin was disrupted for almost an hour and a half yesterday after a collision between a tram and a car.

The crash happened between the Four Courts and Smithfield in the Bow Street area at about 2.20pm as the tram was travelling in the Tallaght direction.

The female driver of the Toyota Camry and the operator of the Luas tram were taken to hospital as a precaution. Nobody on the tram was injured.

Dublin Fire Brigade and the gardai attended the scene. Normal service on the tram resumed at about 3.45pm.
