Dart services between Dún Laoghaire and Lansdowne Road were suspended yesterday evening after a train derailed.

Irish Rail confirmed the 4.45pm service from Howth to Bray was travelling at low speed when the incident happened shortly after 6.15pm just outside Dún Laoghaire.

It is understood that the carriage derailed near the station. There were no reported injuries.

A spokeswoman confirmed Irish Rail will launch a probe and an independent inquiry will be carried out by the Rail Accident Investigation Unit.
