THE father of Irish student Nicola Furlong is confident that justice will be done in the trial of the American man accused of murdering her.
The 21-year-old, from Curracloe, Co Wexford, was found dead in a hotel room in Tokyo, Japan, in May.
Ms Furlong had been on a year-long study exchange in Japan and had attended a concert on the night she was allegedly murdered.
Her family were informed by police on Monday that the murder trial of Richard Hinds would take place between March 4 and 22.
Ms Furlong's father Andrew told the Irish Independent: "The police in Japan usually don't take these cases unless they win. They are very thorough in their investigations," he said.
