'Da Vinci Code' author to open literary festival

INTERNATIONAL best-selling author Dan Brown will fly into Ireland to officially open a leading literary festival in the capital.

The American writer of 'The Da Vinci Code' and 'Angels & Demons' has announced that he will headline the 2013 Dublin Writers' Festival in May.

On his first visit to the country, Brown will make an appearance at the National Concert Hall on May 20 to mark the publication of his latest book, 'Inferno'.

Liam Browne, programme director of the festival, said he was "thrilled" to host Mr Brown as the headline event.
