Cyclists set out on epic adventure to raise funds for paralysed friend

A GROUP of cyclists are setting out on an epic adventure to raise much-needed funds for their friend who became paralysed after a road accident.

Galen English is paralysed form his chest down following a horrific accident he suffered while out cycling and now requires advanced adaptions to his home in Greystones, Co Wicklow, where he receives care from his family.

The Team Galen Challenge, which asks the public to donate just one cent for each Kilometre of the 800km route, will see Galen's friends and family cycle the length of Ireland from Mizen Head in Cork to Malin Head in Co Donegal, over just four days from May 4 to 7.

All funds raised will go directly to Galen and his wife Michelle who have three children and are expecting a fourth child.
