Cyclist struck by car close to scene of fatal accident last month

A male cyclist has been taken to hospital after an accident at a spot near where another man was killed last month.

Emergency services were called to the scene near the Phoenix Park in Islandbridge at 7.40pm.

A male cyclist was struck by a car.

He was brought by ambulance to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown where his injuries are described as not life-threatening.

Last month Darragh Ryan was killed when he was knocked off his bike on Conyngham Road.

He is one of a number of cyclists to lose their lives on Irish roads recently.
