Cyclist and motorist (90s) killed in separate collisions in Dublin and Roscommon

A male cyclist has died following a collision with a truck in Dublin.
The accident happened at around 1.30pm this afternoon on White Church Road in Rathfarnham.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the truck was unharmed.
Garda forensic investigators are currently at the scene and the road is closed north of Taylor's Lane.
Diversions are in place.
There have been 12 cyclist fatalities this year, an increase of two fatalities when compared to the same period in 2016.
Three of the deaths occurred in Dublin.

Gardaí are also investigating a fatal accident between Castleplunket and Ballintubber in Co Roscommon.
A woman, aged in her 90s, was killed in the incident.
The car was found crashed in a deep ditch around three kilometres from Castleplunket at around 12.45pm today.
There was no other vehicle involved in the crash.
In a statement, gardaí said the woman had been reporting missing yesterday when she failed to return home from an appointment.
Her body has been removed to University College Hospital Galway where a post mortem examination will take place.
The road at the scene is closed to facilitate an examination of the area by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
