Customers now get better value
THE recession has at least brought better value for money in some sectors, according to the latest poll.
That perception is strongest when it comes to value for money in hotel accommodation and eating out in restaurants, though pubs and clubs have more work to do.
More than half (63pc) of consumers felt they were getting better value for money in hotel accommodation than they did five years ago, according to the poll.
A similar percentage (60pc) were happy with the cost of the alcohol they bought to drink at home, while half felt there was better value for money in eating out in restaurants. However, only 16pc thought there was better value in pubs and clubs, while more than a third (37pc) said there was worse value.
