Crosby follows dad's footsteps
It's good to know that Fianna Fail don't let the hand of history get in their way when selecting candidates for local elections.
Back in 1998, one of their Roscommon-based councillors, Tom Crosby, was given a suspended sentence for punching former justice minister Sean Doherty. Not surprisingly, he became an independent councillor shortly afterwards. But now his daughter is following him into politics -- and running for Fianna Fail in Dublin's South East Inner City.
Vicky Crosby told the Longford Leader that there was "some history" between her father and Fianna Fail. But in true political style, she also managed to draw a line in the sand. She said that as far as she was concerned the past is the past and she was "looking towards the future".
