Woman (28) arrested and €10k cocaine seized in joint garda and Revenue operation

A woman has been arrested after gardaí seized cocaine worth €10,000 this morning.

Gardai and the Revenue Commissioners carried out a joint operation in Dublin’s south inner-city this morning.

Members of the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau (DOCB), Kevin Street drugs unit and Revenue officers seized a package containing approximately 142g of cocaine, with an estimated value of €10,000.

In a statement Revenue confirmed that the package had originated in the Netherlands.

A 28 year old Irish woman was arrested at the scene and is being detained at Kevin Street Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996. 

Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
