Two men arrested and €180k drugs seized in joint operation

Two men have been arrested and cannabis worth €180,000 was seized as part of a joint garda and Revenue operation in Dublin.

In a statement gardaí confirmed that the find was made as part of ongoing joint investigations targeting drug importations.

The joint intelligence led operation was conducted by the Revenue’s Customs Service, the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau and the Finglas / Blanchardstown Drugs Unit on Monday morning.

The team searched a home on Blakestown Road, Blanchardstown, and Customs seized a package which contained approximately nine kilograms of Herbal Cannabis, with an estimated value of €180,000.

Two men in their 50s were arrested at the scene, by Gardai.

Both are being detained at Finglas Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice ( Drug Trafficking ) Act 1996.
