Three men arrested and heroin worth €300k seized in garda raid

Gardaí have arrested three men and seized heroin worth €300,000 during an organised crime raid.

The discovery was made at at house in Ballyfermot, Dublin on Monday evening.

In a statement gardaí said the search was carried out as part of ongoing investigations targeting serious criminal activity in the Dublin region.

The intelligence led search was conducted by the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau, supported by the Special Crime Task Force. During this operation Diamorphine (Heroin) with an estimated street value of €300,000 (subject to analysis) was seized.

Three men, aged 34, 30 and 25, years were arrested at the scene.

Two of the arrested men remain in custody at Ballyfermot and Clondlkin Garda Stations, where they are detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

The 25-year-old man has been released and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
