Masked men with 'gun' robbed a transit van's cashbox this evening, gardai have confirmed.

The cash-in-transit robbery happened on Church Road in Skerries, Dublin at around 4pm.

Two masked, one with a suspected firearm, threatened staff before fleeing with the cashbox.

They left the scene in a blue car, which has been described as a Mini Cooper.

The vehicle was found burned out a short time later in Kelly's lane.

A garda spokesman said: "There were no reports of any injuries during the raid and investigations are ongoing."
