Man due to appear before court following seizure of €2.8m worth of drugs

A man is expected to appear in court this morning following the seizure of more than €2.8 million worth of drugs yesterday.

The man (25) is due to appear before a sitting of Dublin District Court at 10.30am charged in relation to the investigation.

As part of ongoing investigations targeting serious criminal activity in Dublin, two cars were stopped in the Drumcondra area of Dublin yesterday morning.

During the search of these vehicles, approximately 5 kilos of Cannabis Herb (subject to analysis) was seized.

Two men (25 and 30) were arrested at the scene and are currently detained at Finglas Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2- Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

A follow up operation a search was carried out at an address in Drumcondra, a significant amount of drugs was seized including Cocaine, Heroin, Cannabis Herb, Cannabis Resin and Ecstasy tablets, along with drug packaging and mixing paraphernalia.
