Man arrested, gun and motorbike seized in west Dublin crime crackdown
Gardaí have arrested a man and seized a gun as part of an operation targeting organised criminals in West Dublin.
Yesterday a search operation was carried out at an address in Blanchardstown. The operation was led by detectives from the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (DOCB).
During the course of this search a Baikal pistol and ammunition was seized along with a stolen high powered motor cycle. A quantity of Cocaine and Cannabis with a street value of approximately €30,000 (analysis pending) was also seized.
A 22-year-old man was arrested as part of the investigation and is currently detained at Finglas Garda Station under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act.
Gardaí say the search was part of anongoing investigations targeting serious criminal activity in the Dublin West area.
