A plush house in Rialto, Dublin, was one of nine properties raided by Criminal Assets Bureau (CAB) following a surveillance operation yesterday.

Thousands of euro worth of refurbishment work had been carried out at a house suspected to be the home of a major drugs supplier who is considered a ground manager and enforcer for the cartel.

Gardaí recovered around €4,500 in cash as well as two Rolex watches and mobile phones during the raids. A high-tech drone device fitted with recording devices was also seized.

A solicitor's office in Dún Laoghaire was also raided where documentation and electronic devices were recovered. Further raids were carried out on Francis Street and at other locations - including a beauty salon operated by the target's partner - around Dublin city centre, with documentation seized as part of the probe.

The drug dealer targeted in the raids is originally from the Dublin 8 area but also spends a large amount of his time in Spain.
