Investigation launched after man (40s) stabbed in street attack

A man was rushed to hospital after he was stabbed in the face during a street fight on Sunday.

Gardaí are investigating the  assault that occurred on Main Street, Drimoleague, County Cork shortly before 6pm.

The victim, who is in his early 40s, was taken to Cork University Hospital (CUH) with non life threatening injuries.

Two men, Late 20's and mid 30's, were arrested and were detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Bandon Garda Station.

Both were released last early this morning without charge. A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
