Girl (14) charged in connection with stabbing of teenager

A 14-year-old girl is due to appear in court in connection with the stabbing of another teenager.

A 15-year-old girl was stabbed in the neck in the Dean's Walk area of Lurgan, Co Armagh at around 9pm on Friday night.

A PSNI spokesperson said in a statement that another teenager has been charged in connection with the incidet.

"Detectives investigating a stabbing incident at Dean’s Walk in Lurgan on Friday night have charged a 14 year old girl with grievous bodily harm with intent.

"She is due to appear at Lisburn court on Monday 22 April."

The injured girl received treatment at the scene before being brought to Craigavon Area Hospital.

A PSNI spokesperson said this morning: "She is in critical condition in hospital.

"Another teenager is helping police with enquiries."

Police have appealed for witnesses or anyone with  information to contact them on 101 and quote serial number 1499 of 19/04/19.
