Gardai have arrested two men in connection with the seizure of around €1,500,000 worth of cannabis.

The drugs were found during a  search of a property in Ballymount Estate in Dublin 12.

Gardai discovered a cannabis grow house and around 1,500 plants that were at various levels of growth.

Approximately 48kgs of vacuum packed cannabis herb was also discovered.

Gardai seized €70,000 in cash during a follow-up search of a house on the Northside of Dublin.

Two men, aged 54 and 44, were arrested and are being held under the provisions of Section 2 Drug Trafficking Act 1996 at Crumlin and Sundrive Road Garda stations.

The investigation is ongoing.
