Gardai arrest 31 people over two days in Operation Storm

Gardai have arrested 31 people in two days across Waterford

The operation was undertaken in Waterford to prevent crime, disrupt criminal activity, arrest criminals wanted on warrant and enhance garda relations with the public.

Searches, arrests and warrant executions were carried out throughout Waterford as part of Operation Storm on February 6 and 7.

Of the 31 people arrested, 18 were arrested for crime, 13 people were arrested on warrant and eight of those were detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

The offences for which the people have been arrested include thefts, assaults, criminal damage, robbery, burglaries and S15 MDA (Misuse of Drugs Act).

16 of those have been charged and will appear before Waterford District Court in the coming weeks.
